A former radio and television voice at Nicholls State University and the University of New Orleans, Mike Wagenheim left south Louisiana after nearly a decade to pursue a new life in Israel. He quickly moved from sportscasting to political reporting and currently serves as a diplomatic correspondent for i24NEWS, an international television channel. Wagenheim covers the biggest stories in Israeli politics each day, offering studio analysis and reporting from the field. He’s regularly assigned to the Knesset (Israeli parliament) and Prime Minister’s Office. Wagenheim has also reported from the Western Wall, Jerusalem’s Old City, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Yad Vashem, the Supreme Court, the King David Hotel, Bethlehem’s Church of the Nativity and Israeli settlements. He’s also the Israeli press review panelist on i24NEWS’ “The Spin Room.”
Wagenheim is a two-time graduate of West Virginia University, with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast news and a master’s in sport management. He and his wife, Hila, have a one-year old daughter, Ella, and reside north of Tel Aviv.
